There are big questions about how the government will meet the eye-watering cost of the AUKUS Submarine deal announced yesterday. Shadow Defence Minister Andrew Hastie has suggested there could be cuts to areas of defence, as long as they were justified, to pay for the new submarine program which could cost up to $368 billion.
